Excellent delivery, ordered Wednesday evening, arrived on Friday with very good information en route. Machine up and running in test trial quickly and easily. Sadly have since fractured a wrist in car accident so cannot comment further for some time!! Probably 5 star in due course.

Being used to stitching on industrial sewing machines for many years I wanted a domestic sewing machine that was basic, strong and reliable. I have used the Janome for many years now and still going strong, never once had any problems and has never needed a service either.

Although I ordered this item for someone else I did recommend your site and the Sewing Machine as I bought one from you when I was living in Cyprus in June 2006. I chose the Silver Viscount 1045 after much research and after trying it out for the last week I am very pleased with it. The manual is good and the machine is easy to use. I particularly wanted a machine with a top loading bobbin, an automatic needle threader, a one-step buttonholer, and the stop/start button with the speed control which means you can use it without the foot-control. It has all of these, an impressive number of stitches and is also light-weight and has a hard-cover. My first attempt at a buttonhole had an amazingly professional appearance and it is so easy, set it up, press the button and away it goes. On top of that, I found the people at Silver Viscount very helpful when I e-mailed them to ask if it could cope with materials from very fine to vinyl and leather - the answer - yes if you use the correct needle..

Ticks all the boxes lovely machine ideal for experts and learners alike I ask a lot of my machines and this one does it had a 760 for 40 years a hard act to follow this machine does it when all the others I've had have failed love it!!!

I love to use my new Opal sewing machine. It feels larger than my old one. But in fact it is only slightly bigger by a few cm's. The difference is I can get more fabric through the gap under the arm when sewing big quilt sections. Now i can add my name to everything i make, often its hidden in seams. I am happy with my sewing results on this lovely machine.

I bought my first heavy duty machine 2 years ago when I set up a small business making clothes for children. It was reliable and performed the basics of dressmaking as required. I have purchased a 2nd machine for my daughter because I believe it is ideal for someone who requires a reliable workhorse.
